Product Overview
Where This Trimmed Spotlight Works Best
FST-SP-YMYB is a trimmed recessed spotlight for projects that need controlled accent lighting with a conventional, easy-to-finish ceiling installation. The visible outer trim covers the edge of the cut-out, which makes installation and future replacement more straightforward than a trimless fitting.
The deep-set light source helps reduce direct brightness from normal viewing angles. With five power and size configurations, the series can be used in residences, hotels, restaurants, retail stores and other interiors that need focused light without making the lamp itself too prominent.
How to Select the Size and Beam Angle
| Project requirement | Selection guidance |
|---|---|
| Compact feature, niche or lower-output area | Check the 10W model with a 55 mm cut-out and 80 mm fixture height. |
| Residential room, hotel room or corridor | The 12W, 15W and 20W models share a 75 mm cut-out but have different body heights; confirm ceiling depth before selection. |
| Larger retail, restaurant or hospitality area | The 25W model uses a 95 mm cut-out and should be selected according to ceiling height and target illuminance. |
| Small object or concentrated long-throw accent | 4°, 8° and 13° create very narrow beams and should be checked against the target size and distance. |
| Artwork, merchandise or focused room lighting | 15° or 24° is a practical starting range for accent lighting. |
| Broader coverage | 36° and 50° spread light over a wider area and may suit general accent lighting or closer fixture spacing. |
Beam angle, wattage and throw distance should be evaluated together. A sample test is recommended when the project requires a precise spot size or a smooth transition between adjacent beams.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the advantage of the visible trim?
The trim covers the cut-out edge and allows a conventional recessed installation. It is generally easier to coordinate on site and easier to remove for maintenance than a trimless fitting.
Do all 75 mm cut-out models have the same height?
No. The 12W, 15W and 20W versions all use a 75 mm cut-out, but their product heights are 82 mm, 90 mm and 115 mm. Check the available ceiling depth before ordering.
Which beam angle should I choose?
Narrow angles concentrate light on a smaller target, while 36° and 50° cover a wider area. Selection depends on the target size, mounting height, aiming distance and desired lighting effect.
Can Ra98 and dimming be specified?
Yes. Ra98 and several control options can be discussed. Confirm them before sample production so the LED source and driver are matched to the project.
Can I order a sample first?
Yes. A sample is recommended to check the cut-out, ceiling depth, beam angle, glare comfort, light color and dimming compatibility before bulk production.
If the project requires the same optical family without a visible outer trim, compare the trimless FST-SP-YMWB. For adjustable aiming from 0° to 30°, see FST-SP-OCBL.
