Where This Commercial Downlight Works Best
FST-HY-HC08 is a fixed recessed downlight family for retail stores, shopping malls, hotel lobbies, exhibition halls, airport commercial areas and other public interiors. Seven housing sizes allow the same visual design to be used across standard ceiling zones and larger high-ceiling spaces.
The wide reflector provides a broader distribution than a narrow-beam spotlight. The radial-fin heat sink is sized for the different power ranges, but the selected model still needs adequate ventilation space above the ceiling.
How to Select the Size and Power
| Project condition | Selection guidance |
|---|---|
| Standard commercial ceiling or smaller zone | Start by comparing the 9–12W and 18–20W models with 90 mm and 110 mm cut-outs. |
| Retail store, lobby or medium public area | The 20–30W and 30–40W versions provide larger apertures and higher output for broader coverage. |
| Large lobby, exhibition hall or taller ceiling | Review the 40–50W and 80W models after checking ceiling height, fixture spacing and required illuminance. |
| Atrium, airport area or very high mounting position | The 100–120W version should be selected from a lighting calculation and confirmed against the 280–300 mm cut-out and 245 mm body height. |
| More focused commercial lighting | 24° or 38° may be used when the mounting height and spacing suit a tighter distribution. |
| Broader general illumination | 60° provides wider coverage and should be checked against spacing to avoid uneven brightness. |
Do not select a high-wattage model from ceiling height alone. Target illuminance, room dimensions, surface reflectance, beam angle, fixture quantity and spacing all affect the result.
What to Confirm Before Ordering
- Ceiling height, room dimensions and target illuminance
- Product diameter, 90–300 mm cut-out and available ceiling depth
- Required power from 9W to 120W
- 24°, 38° or 60° beam angle
- Fixture quantity, spacing and circuit load
- Input voltage, CCT, CRI and driver requirement
- Dry indoor installation, as the listed rating is IP20
- Sample requirement, project quantity, packaging and delivery schedule
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the 100–120W model suitable for every high ceiling?
No. It should be selected according to the ceiling height, target illuminance, room area, spacing and beam angle. A lighting calculation is recommended before ordering.
Can different sizes be used in one project?
Yes. The seven sizes allow one product family to cover areas with different ceiling heights and output requirements while keeping a consistent appearance.
Which beam angle should I choose?
24° and 38° provide more concentrated light, while 60° covers a wider area. The correct option depends on mounting height, spacing and the required uniformity.
What ceiling space is required?
Check both the cut-out and product height. The largest model measures Ø330 × H245 mm and requires a 280–300 mm cut-out, so ceiling structure and ventilation space must be confirmed.
Can I order a sample before the project quantity?
Yes. A sample can be used to check the cut-out, installation depth, beam distribution, light color, glare comfort and driver configuration.
