Where This IP44 Downlight Is Best Used
FST-YD-YW02 is intended for humid indoor areas where a standard open downlight may be exposed to moisture or condensation. Typical applications include residential bathrooms and kitchens, hotel bathrooms, indoor washrooms, covered balconies and similar ceiling locations. Its recessed construction keeps the ceiling appearance clean, while the 55° beam distributes light over a relatively wide area for general illumination.
IP44 means the fixture offers protection against solid objects larger than 1 mm and splashing water. It is not an underwater light and should not be treated as a substitute for a higher-IP fixture in locations exposed to direct jets, standing water or outdoor weather. The installation zone and local electrical requirements must be checked before selection.
How to Select the Size and Power
| Project condition | Selection guidance |
|---|---|
| Small bathroom, washroom or compact ceiling zone | Start by checking the 10W model, Φ83 × 65 mm, with a 75 mm cut-out. |
| Medium bathroom, kitchen or hotel bathroom | Compare the 15W or 24W model according to room area, ceiling height and number of fixtures. |
| Larger humid indoor area or higher light-output requirement | Consider the 30W or 40W size only after confirming the lighting layout and target illuminance. |
| Warm residential or hospitality atmosphere | 2700K–3000K is commonly selected; confirm against the interior finishes and project standard. |
| Clean, neutral task lighting | 3500K–4000K is often suitable for kitchens, washrooms and commercial interiors. |
| Projects with high color-rendering requirements | Select CRI98; CRI90 is available for standard project requirements. |
| Building-control or smart-lighting project | Confirm ON/OFF, Tuya, 0–10V or DALI before sample production because the driver and wiring must match the control system. |
Wattage alone does not determine whether a room will be bright enough. Fixture quantity, spacing, ceiling height, surface reflectance and target illuminance must be considered together. For projects, send the floor plan, reflected ceiling plan or room dimensions so the model and quantity can be checked before ordering.
What to Confirm Before Ordering
- Required product diameter, existing cut-out and available ceiling depth
- Room type, room dimensions, ceiling height and quantity of fixtures
- Input voltage and destination-market electrical requirements
- Required CCT, CRI and 55° beam suitability
- ON/OFF, Tuya, 0–10V or DALI control requirement
- LED source and driver configuration
- Installation zone and whether IP44 is sufficient for that location
- Order quantity, sample requirement, packaging and delivery schedule
Frequently Asked Questions
Can this downlight be installed in a bathroom?
Yes, it is designed for humid indoor ceiling areas and has an IP44 protection rating with an anti-fog design. The exact bathroom zone and local electrical code still need to be confirmed. Use a higher protection level if the fixture will be exposed to direct water jets or outdoor weather.
Which wattage should I choose?
The range includes 10W, 15W, 24W, 30W and 40W. Selection depends on room size, ceiling height, fixture quantity, spacing and required illuminance. The wattage should not be selected from room type alone.
Can I replace an existing downlight with this model?
Check both the cut-out and ceiling depth. Available cut-outs are 75 mm, 95 mm, 120 mm, 145 mm and 165 mm. The matching product dimensions are listed in the size table on this page.
Is CRI98 available?
Yes. CRI90 and CRI98 configurations are available. Confirm the required CRI together with CCT, LED source and driver before sample or bulk production.
Does it support dimming or smart control?
ON/OFF, Tuya smart control, 0–10V and DALI options can be discussed. The control method must be confirmed before ordering so the driver, wiring and project control system are compatible.
Can I order a sample before a bulk order?
Yes. Sample confirmation is recommended when the project needs to verify cut-out fit, light color, dimming compatibility, glare comfort or the actual lighting effect before bulk production.
