Where This IP65 Shallow Downlight Works Best
FST-HY-HC03 is a shallow recessed commercial downlight for shopping malls, airport terminals, exhibition halls, hotel lobbies, retail stores and public corridors. The compact body helps where ceiling depth is limited, while the listed IP65 front protection supports locations that may be exposed to dust or splashing water from below.
Six sizes cover 10W to 45W. The protection rating must be confirmed for the complete installation and required ceiling side; it should not automatically be treated as suitable for outdoor weather, standing water or direct high-pressure jets.
How to Select the Size and Beam Angle
| Project condition | Selection guidance |
|---|---|
| Limited ceiling cavity or compact area | Check the 10W model with a 75 mm cut-out and 50 mm body height. |
| Standard retail, corridor or hotel ceiling | Compare the 15W and 20W versions with 95 mm and 115 mm cut-outs. |
| Medium commercial area | The 25W and 30W versions suit larger openings and higher output requirements. |
| Large area or higher mounting position | Review the 45W model after checking ceiling height, fixture spacing and target illuminance. |
| Focused commercial lighting | 24° or 38° gives more concentrated coverage. |
| Broader general illumination | 60° spreads light across a wider zone and should be matched to fixture spacing. |
The driver, cable entry, ceiling interface and installation workmanship also affect moisture protection. Confirm the exact IP construction and installation zone before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does IP65 mean the downlight can be installed outdoors?
Not automatically. Confirm whether the rating applies to the front only or the complete fixture, and check exposure to rain, jets, condensation and local installation requirements.
What is the advantage of the shallow body?
It reduces the recessed depth needed above the ceiling. Space for the driver, wiring and heat dissipation still has to be included.
Which beam angle should I choose?
24° and 38° provide more focused light, while 60° gives wider coverage. Selection depends on ceiling height, spacing and the required uniformity.
Can this model be used in a washroom?
It may suit certain ceiling zones when the listed protection and local electrical requirements are adequate. Confirm the exact zone and exposure before installation.
Can I order a sample?
Yes. A sample can verify the cut-out, ceiling depth, sealing detail, beam distribution, light color and driver before bulk production.
