Product Overview

FST-OC03 is an asymmetric recessed LED wall washer for illuminating walls, artwork, textured surfaces, display areas and architectural features. It is available in trim and trimless versions, with three sizes covering 7–10W, 12–15W and 20–25W. The asymmetric optical design directs more light toward the vertical surface than a standard symmetrical downlight. Select the size according to the wall height, fixture-to-wall distance, spacing, ceiling opening and required brightness. A sample test is recommended before confirming the final layout for hotel, villa, retail, gallery and commercial projects.

Where This Asymmetric Wall Washer Is Best Used

FST-OC03 is designed for projects that need light directed toward a vertical surface rather than distributed evenly below the fixture. Typical applications include feature walls, artwork, textured finishes, display shelves, hotel corridors, villa living rooms, retail stores, showrooms and galleries.

The asymmetric distribution helps place more light on the wall, but the final effect depends on the distance from the wall, spacing between fixtures, installation direction, wall height and surface reflectance. The orientation must be checked during installation so the optical opening faces the intended wall.

How to Select the Size and Power

Project condition Selection guidance
Small feature wall, artwork or compact display area Review the Ø60 × H80 mm model with a Ø55 mm cut-out and 7–10W power range.
Residential, hotel or medium retail wall Compare the Ø80 × H93 mm model with a Ø75 mm cut-out and 12–15W power range.
Taller wall or higher light-output requirement Consider the Ø106 × H117 mm model with a Ø95 mm cut-out and 20–25W power range after checking the layout.
Clean ceiling appearance Select the trimless version only when the ceiling construction and installation process can support trimless finishing.
Renovation or easier replacement The trim version is normally easier to install and can help cover the edge of the ceiling cut-out.

Power alone does not determine the wall-washing result. Send the wall height, fixture-to-wall distance, fixture spacing, ceiling plan and target surface so the model can be reviewed before ordering.

What to Confirm Before Ordering

  • Trim or trimless installation
  • Product diameter, cut-out size and available ceiling depth
  • Wall height, fixture-to-wall distance and spacing
  • Installation direction and the surface to be illuminated
  • Required power, CCT, CRI and control method
  • Input voltage and destination-market requirements
  • Order quantity, sample requirement, packaging and delivery schedule

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same as a standard recessed downlight?

No. Its asymmetric distribution is intended to direct more light toward a wall or vertical surface. A standard symmetrical downlight mainly distributes light below the fixture.

Can it be used for artwork and display walls?

Yes, but the fixture position, wall distance, spacing and required brightness should be checked according to the artwork or display area.

Should I choose trim or trimless?

Choose trimless when the ceiling construction allows the frame to be integrated into the finish. Choose the trim version when easier installation or cut-out coverage is preferred.

Can I order a sample before a bulk order?

Yes. Sample testing is recommended to confirm the wall-washing effect, installation direction, size and selected configuration before bulk production.

For conventional general lighting, compare the recessed COB downlight FST-YDCJ03. For humid ceiling areas, see the IP44 anti-fog downlight FST-YD-YW02.
